Palak Chauhan Pianist

Palak Chauhan is a 15-year-old Western Classical Pianist from Chennai, India.

She embarked on her musical journey at the age of 5, displaying exceptional passion for the piano. She is enrolled as a student at Dr A R Rahman's KM Music Conservatory, where she is nurtured under the tutelage of the virtuoso Pianist, Dr Surojeet Chatterji (alumnus of Moscow Conservatory) and Mr Niteen Dongare. She simultaneously studies piano theory and music composition under the veteran musician and conductor Mr Augustine Paul. She is currently preparing for ATCL diploma from the Trinity College, London.

Her array of achievements comprises national and international piano competitions spanned across USA, Italy, London, Austria, Canada, Malaysia and UAE. She has been honored with the Global Kids Achievers Awards, and the Child Prodigy Award along with being a TEDx speaker and a Teach For India volunteer teaching music in a Government School in Chennai.

Palak was bestowed with the honor of performing at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, for the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu.

This prestigious occasion was orchestrated under the Ministry of Culture with a distinguished audience in attendance such as Mrs Meenakshi Lekhi (Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture of India), philanthropist Mrs Sudha Murty, Oscar and Grammy Award Winner Dr A R Rahman, Mr Imtiaz Ali (renowned Bollywood Film Director), Mr Mohit Chauhan (Cultural Envoy of Mongolia in India), ministers and defense personnel.

She had the honor of performing for the US Ambassador Mr Eric Garcetti and Consul General Ms Judith Ravin of the US Embassy.

Palak was invited to perform a solo concert at the Raphael Court of the renowned Victoria & Albert Museum in London, marking the unveiling of the exquisite sculptural piano crafted by Edelweiss Pianos.

The audience was adorned with the presence of eminent dignitaries, including the illustrious composer Mr Andrew Lloyd Webber, RT Hon Lucy Frazer (Secretary of State for Culture, Media, and Sport, UK), Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon (Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, UK). Notable figures, such as the Hindujas, the Jindals, the Mittals, and an array of other luminaries, lent their aura to the occasion.

She had the privilege of performing for the Jonas Brothers and Sting at an exclusive gathering hosted by Mr. Adar Poonawalla (CEO of the Serum Institute of India). She also captivated Oscar and Grammy Award Winner Dr A R Rahman with her performance. She cherishes the experience of having performed for global music sensation, Grammy, Emmy & Brit Award Winner Ed Sheeran. Since 2019, she has been associated with the Nagaland Brillante Piano Festival, as their youngest featured pianist.

Noteworthy indeed, her performance captivated the attention of the world-renowned pianist, Mr Lang Lang, who shared her talent on his Instagram as part of the Piano Day 2020 celebrations.

Palak is set to release her debut album, ACROSS 88, featuring her original piano compositions, a remarkable milestone in her evolving musical journey. Her aspiration transcends geographical boundaries as she dreams of showcasing her musical skills on a global stage, proudly representing India, in the realm of the piano.
